[The notes of the event] Visiting the dried fruits shop, Afghan Saffron, Matsudo!

だいぶ遅くなっちゃいましたが、こちらでも3月5日（火）の様子を書いておきたいと思います。
Though quite a day have passed, I want to write about our visiting Afghan Saffron.

おでかけしてきたよ
翌日も雨予報だったため、
急遽雨天決行にしたおでかけ多文化。
As it was likely to be raining next day as well, we just went through the plan in spite of the rain.
それでも、前のバナナかぞくの常連さん・飛び入りの方まで来てくださって、
本当に嬉しかったです…！
最年少は4ヶ月のかわいい赤ちゃんでした💖
The end of the day, the guests of previous Banana Kazoku as well as newcomer have joined us, which I was so happy! The smallest guest was a cute 4 month old baby;)
バブリさんのお話
お店でバブリさんは
フルーツの話・アフガニスタンの話・絨毯（じゅうたん）の作り方などなど、
たくさんお話をしてくれました！
At Afghan Saffron, Baburi san talked about Afghanistan, fruits there, and carpets etc.
じゅうたん Carpets
絨毯の発祥はペルシャのトルクメン人。ペルシャっていうとイランのイメージだけど、歴史的にはアフガニスタンも含めた広い地域だったんですよ、と。
According to Baburi san, Turkmens started making carpets. We thought of Iran when we hear “Persia”, but historically it was much more broader including current Afghanistan.
アフガニスタンの絨毯は
編み目を一つひとつ手で結んでいるから、50-100年保つそうです！
It is said that Afghan carpets last 50 to 100 years since they manually tie wool one by one. Amazing…
アフガンでは絨毯を買うとき、
デザインの好みでなく模様の「意味」で買うそうです。家紋みたいな・・。
In Afghanistan, people chose carpets not because of design preference but meaning of designs like symbols for family.
最近のアフガンの話など Afghan these days
2021年8月にタリバンが政権掌握したアフガン（当時のニュース記事はこちらから）。
治安は今はすごく良くなったそうです。
In Afghanistan, Taliban took over the country in September, 2018. It is said that now it has become quite peaceful.
でも、世界の国のほとんどは
今のアフガニスタンを国として承認してない。
だから、アフガンの銀行はそれ以来凍結されてしまって商売しにくい、と。
However, many countries in the world haven’t approved current Afghanistan as a proper country, thus the Afghan bank accounts have been frozen from then and it is difficult for people to buy/sell things there.
バブリさんはどうしているかというと、
Then, how Baburi san has been trading things there?
①中古車・中古自転車のパーツを日本で買って、
First, in Japan he buys a lot of 2nd hand car and bycicles.
②アフガンでそれを売って、
Then, he sends them to Afghanistan, sells them and gets money there.
③そのお金でドライフルーツを仕入れてくる！
んだそうです。（そんなに大変なことをしてたとは知らなかった・・。）
Finally, he can buy dried fruits and send them to Japan! I’ve never imagined he has been doing such a hard work for selling them in Matsudo…
一つのコンテナには自転車が800台〜1000台入るので、それを運ぶ、と。
They can put around 800-1000 bicycles in one shipping container to ship.
自転車は撤去された放置自転車で、たいてい中国の業者が買うそうです。
Basically those bicycles are ones which are left on streets and removed by municipalities. According to Baburi san, basically Chinese merchants would buy those bicycles.
バブリさんは銀行凍結が終われば、中古自転車のビジネスはやめる、と。
（お金を回すためにやってることですものね。）
Baburi san told that once the bank account is unfrozen, he won’t continue the 2nd hand bicycles business which he does for getting money to use in Afghan as of now…

さて。
私たちはバブリさんの奥さん、愛さんに
ドライフルーツの試食やカルダモン入りの紅茶まで出して頂いて、
お買い物も楽しんで帰りました♪
Ai san offered some dried fruits for tasting, and the cups of black tea with Cardamon which were tasty! Even we enjoyed shopping:)
本当に楽しかったです。
雨のなか来てくれたみなさん、バブリさん夫妻に感謝感謝・・💖
I had a great time yesterday! I’m really grateful to them for coming despite the rain…and also really appreciate Babri san and Ai san for welcoming us.
またゆるゆると企画します。
